Facebook and Social Networking Insurance Buying Group

The Facebook and social network users buying group has the early signs of being a hit at InsurancePen.  It has just been launched and traffic is picking up almost without any effort to market the program.

The group was created as an afterthought.  InsurancePen had integrated Facebook Connect to ease the registration process and information sharing utility for our users.  It was only after this that interest was shown to actually create a group for these users specifically.

The focus of the first social networking group is on personal lines insurance including auto insurance.  The reason being the first traffic from Facebook is focused in this area.  In the future InsurancePen has plans to add business insurance buying groups for the social networking groups that have formed at Facebook or at other niche websites.

InsurancePen is the first website for insurance that allows the users to form and create their own groups to leverage their negotiating power.  It seems a natural fit for the activity at social networking sites that already group people together for their communications.

Look for more activity in this area, and check out the new group by clicking here.  If this gets your imagination going, let the people over at InsurancePen know what your ideas are for creating a group of your own.  There are a lot of insurance carriers very interested in marketing to the demographics of these social networking sites.

InsurancePen.com to Add New Lines of Coverage to Health Insurance Application

InsurancePen.com is announcing that dental insurance, short term disability insurance, long-term disability insurance and group life insurance will be added to the business health insurance applications.

This change will take effect on December 4, 2009. The new lines of coverage will be added to the health-insurance questionnaire as additional pages. Filling out the additional pages will be optional to the user.

The purpose of the change is to acknowledge that our business health insurance users as well as our school health insurance and other public entity health insurance users traditionally seek alternatives for these lines of coverage at the same time.

The change will not affect the health insurance application section itself but should help the user to keep their information organized in a central location. As with every application InsurancePen.com, the user has the option to go back and edit and update their information at any time by logging in to their account.

InsurancePen continues to strive to make improvements to our new and existing insurance applications. We know that obtaining as complete an application as possible leads to the most accurate insurance quote from the health-insurance carriers.

InsurancePen is asking our users to notify us if they believe there are improvements that can be made to our health insurance application or any other insurance application on the website. Your suggestions help us to improve the process for all of our users.

InsurancePen.com to Focus on Healthcare

InsurancePen is focusing attention on health-insurance cooperative buying groups in coordination with the website launch this November.

Unlike other forms of insurance, health insurance rates seldom fluctuate lower. Most employers are left to wonder just how big the increase will be with each new year.

With the debate raging in Washington DC and no end in sight — or solutions, InsurancePen is entering the market to give both private sector and public sector employers options. With the down economy every business is looking after every last expense searching to save as much money as possible. Government employers are faring no better with a sharp decline in their revenue.

Insurancepen was created to allow employers to pool together and leverage their buying power as a group instead of facing the market as an individual. Insurance plan will focus on creating health-insurance groups for small business employers as well as cities, schools, counties and other government entities in Michigan.

There are many insurance carriers looking to enter the Michigan market. The health-insurance carriers already doing business in Michigan have made great strides to change their product offering to assist employers through these difficult times. InsurancePen plans to help both the employer and the insurance carriers by bringing large groups of buyers together to create new markets.

To check out the new health-insurance groups being formed along with other insurance groups visit the InsurancePen.com website.

DeRoches to Launch InsurancePen for Business Insurance

After a successful development process, DeRoches LLC announced that it will be launching the InsurancePen website on November 30, 2009.

“The technology has been ready to go since late Summer” said Craig DeRoche, the founder of the company. He said, “we held off until we had the forms ready to go for business insurance and public entity health insurance groups.”

The launch is expected to focus on only a handful of initiatives, including the new Public Entity Health Insurance Initiative for Michigan.

“Schools and cities in Michigan are looking for any way they can to save money” said Alex Fisher, CTO of DeRoches.

With the launch of InsurancePen, public entities will be able to enter their health insurance plan data using the internet. The data can be used to get alternative price and coverage quotes from all major insurance carriers and insurance cooperative groups.

InsurancePen was created to facilitate the formation of new cooperative purchasing groups and to grow existing groups.

InsurancePen simplifies the insurance purchasing process and opens the doors to group members to access savings they wouldn’t receive on their own.

“Individual buyers generally pay more than people that buy in a group environment” said DeRoche. “That is the whole point of the InsurancePen” he added.
